Jennifer received an AAS degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in 1997 from Herkimer County Community College. She worked as a COTA while pursuing her BS degree from Utica College of Syracuse University in 2001. She is a Licensed Occupational Therapist and is Certified with the National Board of Occupational Therapy. She has pediatric experience in the settings of hospital based since 1999 and in early intervention/preschool since 2001. She has experience in a wide variety of the rehabilitation arena including, but not limited to, traumatic brain injury, trauma, spinal cord injury, burns (adult and pediatric); home care services, nursing home treatment. Jennifer has experience with splinting and adaptive equipment/durable medical equipment needs. She currently provides services to early intervention, preschool, and school aged children. Occupational therapy services have/are being provided in Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga counties. She works with children with various developmental needs including visual motor, visual perceptual, sensory motor, sensory regulation/modulation concerns, coordination/motor planning, handwriting difficulties, and adaptive equipment concerns. She has experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, genetic syndromes, cerebral palsy, prematurity, seizure disorders, developmental delays, and ADD/ADHD. She works collaboratively with families, therapists, and teachers. She has supervised COTA and OT students. She is trained in Therapeutic Listening and The Handwriting Without Tears Program. She has attended multiple conferences and currently practices a variety of techniques to assist with sensory regulation/modulation difficulties.
